This week with no school has been so nice. We have gone on walks and to the park everyday. We have built forts outside and had lunch inside of them, painted and had a sleep over. WOW ! What a busy week! Today we find ourselves stuck in the house since it's too chilly to play outside. Days like this you can really see there is a difference in the way girls and boys play!
The girls LOVE to play animals. They take turns choosing which ones they want and play in a small confined area with them. You will hear occasional crying ( from the animals!) but nothing to wild and crazy ( until Parker joined the action with roaring dinosaurs that liked to tip over the carefully arranged animal collection!)
Allie and Lucy have spent the last hour cutting paper and coloring to create cards and cookies and cupcakes.
There is however, nothing like a good old fashioned game of " JAIL" to keep the boys entertained!! No suitable "jail" could be located so we needed to remove the twin mattress off the bed so the " jail" could be tall enough so that the " criminals"" could not escape!! The jail even came equipped with legos that looked strangely like weapons until I was reassured that they were not the kind of guns that could shoot people and they were NOT going to shoot people only deers! ( I must have missed the news report about "deers" being held in the local jail!) That's boys for you!
Its almost time for my sprng break vacation! Dave and I are excited to go to Cabos! We are sad not to be taking Matty and Brent with us but it will be our first vacation alone since our honeymoon almost 22 years ago! ( gosh, Dave is old!!!)
Remember that daycare will be closed FRIDAY March 26 - SUNDAY April 4th.
The kindergarten bus comes at about 8:52 and returns around 12:43 or so for those of you needing to arrange pick up and drop offs. Jeffers Pond bus leaves around 9 am and rturns close to 4 pm.
Checks can be made out in 2 parts if needed. One to be brought on THURSDAY the 25th for the week ending that Friday and one for the following week. Brent will deposit the checks for the week of the 28th on Friday April 2nd. Since Good Friday is a paid holiday but overlaps with my vacation, Friday March 26th will be the paid holiday day. If you pay for daycare the first of the month please leave a check on THURSDAY March 25th to be deposited on April 2nd as well.
The monthly calender does show Thursday April 1 as open but it is a typo!
No school next week! Hopefully it will be nice so we can try out the park! Remember it will still be wet and messy outside! Play clothes and shoes are best! We will still need jackets and possibly hats and mittens. If it is nice enough we WILL be outside. Remember to dress your child accordingly so they are comfortable! This Friday is the designated share day so everone can brng a toy to share - no video games please! Hadyn Donald and his mom are coming for a visit on Friday too! Yipee!!
Logan is going with his family to do some snowboarding in Steamboat, Colorado over spring break! Is anyone else doing something fun or exciting they want to share??
You have to hate the mess it makes but rainy days are perfect for play-doh! These guys LOVE play-doh....especially Parker! It tickles me to hear him ask to play it! Please play ploooh-tow!! I love it! As you can see, it keeps everyone busy for quite awhile!
Speaking of rain - see how cute Lexie looks in her rain gear!!
This year we FOR SURE thought we could catch that pesky leprechaun!! We set out our trap with cheese and gold. Logan had almost captured one with this type of bait previously..... As you can see, he escaped and left this note......
Much to our surprise there were little green tacks all around the kitchen floor!!...
Luckily these little tracks lead to little piles of gold " candy " for us to find! AJ even found a dime on the floor that the leprechaun must have dropped! How exciting!! We heard that the leprechaun got out of the trap at Lucy and Haydens house too!
Matthew came up with this random thought-
" I would not want to be a wild pig! Sometimes they get shooted!! AND there is no such thing a wild tea cups - if there were wild tea cups there would be wild drinking!!!"
Today Emma informed me of some GREAT news!
Emma " Julie, it kind of looks like you have lost some of your blubber!!"
Isnt that GREAT!
Poor Marin, she just cannot get away from the constant love and attention she gets from her daycare pals! Emma said " This sure is a curious baby but that's NOT good because she will be getting into the cupboards and EVERYTHING!"
Not to be outdone, Matthew called me over to take HIS picture while Matthew and Lucy were both telling me how much Marin loves to hold their hands!
What happened to that little baby that used to be perfect for Julie at daycare during the day and then scream his head off for Mom and Dad when he got home?? Hmmmm....wonder if he STILL does that??
Do you thnk that is what " budding beautician " Lindsay said to Parker while she was covering him in this lotion beauty treatment!! Little miss sticky fingers looks like she has been caught red handed delving into the lotion bottle! That little thing got the lotion down off the cupboard and she doesnt look too happy to be caught! We tried to disapprove but it was just too funny!
Parker loves the new " lotion hair" look that Lindsay his stylist gave him!
Baby Gavin is no longer our baby! BIG BOY Gavin had his first birthday party today! He loved his cake and made quite a mess!! Does'nt he look nice in the party hat that AJ and Emma made for him? Happy Birthday Gavin - we love you!
What a nice birthday crown! Thanks Emma and AJ!
Gavin is not shy about digging into this yummy cake!
Lucy, Parker and Matthew thought Gavin's birthday cake was yummy too!!
