May newsletters went home with today's pictures and papers. Make sure you make note of the summer vacation date of July 4-13 as well as no daycare on Wed July 23rd as my Mom will have hip replaceable surgery that day. Watch for the May activity calendars coming home on Thursday.
Dave's trip out to Colorado to help Matty move home for the summer turned into a mini vacation as Matty's planned departure date changed to May 30th. Fun for Dave, sad news for this Mom who had been waiting 515 days..... guess I will have to make it 33 more.
Rounding out the month of April we learned about ponds, snakes and sea turtles. Seeing as Earth Day fell in there too we couldn't resist adding in a little Earth Day litter collecting
After learning about sea turtles and watching a video Dave took on our trip to Mexico of a sea turtle we watched laying eggs then going back out to the sea..... we decided to try our hand at making our own sea turtles!
Wow, Easter activities sure kept us busy............................
fruit and peep kabobs

These yummy baskets are brought to you by Pintrest and Little Debbie snack cakes. It was fun to shake the white coconut until it turned green. We thought it looked just like grass! They tasted as good as they looked!
Our theme this week is Spring and the letter of the week is E. We enjoyed making these yummy mini bird nests out of pretzels and malted milk eggs. They were tasty! We also played a fun game, rolling for eggs. Lindsay and Parker were the game leaders in this counting that incorporated using a dice, counting the dots and choosing the appropriate amount of eggs to see who would gather them most at games end.
We were shocked to see that the pesky Leprechaun got out of his trap and caused some trouble around here on St Patrick's Day! Green potty water, green pancakes......trouble!
Even thought there is still tons of snow on the ground, the weatherman has said that we are FINALLY at the end fo the worst ever winter weather. What better way to celebrate than with an END OF THE POLAR VORTEX PARTY!
What a great time we had digging in the snow for these lovely ice jewels! These beauties, made with colored water and ice cube trays kept us busy outside two day in a row!
